Join the Fermentis team and guest speakers for a day of educational program about the Art of Fermentation!

About this Event

The Fermentis team is pleased to invite you to the 2025 edition of Fermentis Academy, sponsored by RahrBSG, held at Map Brewing Company, 510 Manley Rd, Bozeman, MT 59715.

Throughout the day, you will interact with the Fermentis team, who will present on a broad variety of yeast and fermentation topics. Our aim: To help you as a brewer create the beers you imagine through a better understanding of yeasts and the fermentation process.

8:30-9:00AM Intro (Fermentis & the team)

9:00-9:50AM Yeast & Fermentation Basics: Yeast physiology, basics of fermentation and respiration, yeast growth and multiplication, and more.

9:50-10:45AM Yeast Management in Breweries and FAQ: Yeast management strategies. Pitching rates, direct pitching vs rehydration. Frequently asked questions from brewers.

10:45-11:00AM Break

11:00-12:00PM Yeast management in breweries and FAQ: Yeast management strategies. Pitching rates, direct pitching vs rehydration. Frequently asked questions from brewers.

12:00-1:00PM Lunch

1:00-1:45PM Rahr/Brewers Supply Group Session.

1:45-2:15PM Innovation Session: Low alcohol and non-alcoholic beer production (NABLAB), with a focus on the use maltose negative organisms.

2:15-3:00PM Spotlight Yeast Session on W-34/70: Dispelling myths and creating new opportunities with this classic lager strain based on extensive R&D and analysis.

3:00-3:15PM Break

3:15-4:00PM Make Your Choice Wheat Beer: Dive into Wheat beer strains, kinetics, and Fermentis sensory panel study. Make your choice on a yeast strain to achieve the flavor and aroma profile of your ideal wheat beer.

Aroxa Sensory Workshop for Wheat Beer: Using Aroxa kits we will explore the chemistry and flavor compounds of wheat beer together.

Arrive: 8:30-9:00am
Seminar: 9:00am-4:00pm
Happy Hour will follow from 4:00-5:00pm

We ask each participant for an amount of $50 ($40 for early registry). This price includes participation for all the activities during the day, continental breakfast, lunch, and happy hour (including 2 complimentary beers) afterwards at our happy hour.
