Whitehall High School’s Drama Club attended the 2025 Montana Thespian Festival in Missoula January 23-25, presenting I Don’t Want to Talk About It on Thursday, January 24th, to an audience of over 500 of their peers and fellow actors.

While Whitehall School’s principal and superintendent have said the play is inappropriate content for Whitehall, the one-act play found solid footing in Missoula. Met with a standing ovation following their performance, the group brought home two top awards.

Sophomore Jeanette Blazevich blew the judges away with her monologue Talent Night, winning her Best Supporting Actress. The group was also awarded The Impact Award with another standing ovation from fellow thespians.

“The Impact Award is not something that is awarded yearly - it’s a very special award,” MT Thespian Chapter President Sarah DeGrandpre said in a text to Whitehall Drama director Liz Pullman. “I am so happy for you and your troupe, how well your show was received, and how much recognition you all got. You are doing great work that positively impacts lives.”

After the award ceremony, the judges also told Pullman the play and its actors received superior marks across the board.

This play will not be performed as the WHS school play, as decided by the WHS administration. However, the same cast will present this play as the Whitehall Theatrics - Junior Division group on Saturday and Sunday, February 15 and 16, at the Star Theatre at 1 PM. Tickets will be $5, and concessions will be available.
