We are learning more information about a fatal two-vehicle crash that happened early on New Year's Day near Creston.

The Montana Highway Patrol (MHP) reports one person was killed and another person was injured in the crash.

The wreck happened at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 1 on Montana Highway 35 at the intersection with Holt Stage Road.

One vehicle was headed west while another was coming east when the first vehicle crossed the center line. The two cars collided and both went off the road.

A 30-year-old woman driving the first vehicle was injured while the driver of the second vehicle a 37-year-old woman from Kalispell, died at the scene.

The names of those involved have not yet been released.

A deadly crash was reported early Wednesday morning in the Flathead.

Flathead County Sheriff Brian Heino says the crash happened at the intersection of Montana Highway 35 and Holt Stage Road near Creston.

Sheriff Heino tells MTN the coroner's call came just before 2 a.m.

The Montana Highway Patrol tells MTN a full report on the fatal crash is expected to be released soon

The names of those involved have not yet been released.
