Meet Valerie Edwards, a Southern girl from Northeast Tennessee who moved to Big Sky and Bozeman, Montana, the day after graduating from East Tennessee State University in 2003—and never looked back.

Starting her career as an activities director and later spending years in hotel sales, Valerie made the bold decision in 2022 to leave her 20-year hotel career to fully pursue her passion for event planning and entrepreneurship with Valerie Joy Events.

Valerie discovered The Scout Guide three years ago through Jill King, the former editor of The Scout Guide Bozeman, and quickly became a believer in its marketing power and relationship-building potential. As a luxury wedding planner and designer, she’s excited to create dynamic photo shoots for The Scout Guide members and continue fostering relationships with local business owners in Big Sky and Bozeman.

Having called the area home for 22 years, Valerie is eager to help entrepreneurs grow their presence in the Valley—and nationwide—through The Scout Guide.

When not working, Valerie enjoys spending time with her two children, Maddie and Emory, and her husband, Scott, a chef from Minnesota. The family loves outdoor adventures, including camping, fishing, paddle boarding, hiking, and golfing, and Valerie never misses an opportunity for a shopping day with her daughter. She's also a proud dog mom to three furry babies—Pepper, Daisy, and Penny. less
