Description
The mill tour at Bannack State Park provides an intriguing look into Montana’s gold mining heritage. Built in 1918, the Hendricks/Apex Mill is one of just two fully intact mills in the state that are accessible to the public. It was instrumental in processing gold ore using cyanide extraction, a widely used method during the gold rush era. Today, the mill stands as an important piece of Montana’s industrial history and is carefully preserved as part of the park’s commitment to historic conservation.
