Officials at Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C. halted all arriving and departing air traffic on Wednesday following an incident on the airfield.
In a message on X, the airport said emergency personnel were responding to an aircraft incident. Further details were not immediately available.
All takeoffs and landings have been halted at DCA. Emergency personnel are responding to an aircraft incident on the airfield. The terminal remains open. Will update.

The airport was expected to remain closed until 11p.m. ET.
According to a separate message from local first responders, a small aircraft had gone down near the Potomac River close by the airport on Wednesday evening.
