The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved an Alzheimer's drug that's been proven to slow memory and cognitive decline in patients with the disease.
The approval of Eli Lilly and Company's Kisunla on Tuesday comes after promising clinical trials showed the drug significantly slowed decline in multiple brain functions affected by Alzheimer's, including thinking and daily functioning. This is only the second time the FDA has approved a drug to treat Alzheimer's after clinical trials.
This is a developing story. Check back with Scripps News for updates.
