Description
Sheriff Ed Lester said early Friday evening there are currenlty no wildfires in Butte-Silver Bow County.
"The smoke we are getting is from fires to the west of us," Lester said in a release to the media. "We expect winds to continue to bring smoke into our area through 3 a.m. Expect poor quality for the near future."
Lester said 911 dispatchers are fielding a lot of callls asking for fire information.
"Please do not call emergency dispatch for information on the source of the smoke," he said.
He said the WATCH DUTY app can be installed on cell phones for free. It has maps and updates on wildfires throughout the country.
