Description
A woman accused of breaking into the Kalispell home where her ex was staying last year has received a suspended jail sentence.
Prosecutors initially charged Tiffany Marina Le Roux, 34, with one count of felony burglary in Flathead County District Court in connection with the May 26, 2024, home invasion. She maintained her innocence at her arraignment in June of that year, but struck a deal with prosecutors in October that saw her plead guilty to misdemeanor partner or family member assault.
As part of the agreement, Le Roux would need to undertake 40 hours of anger management counseling. For their part, prosecutors agreed to recommend she receive a one-year suspended sentence.
Judge Amy Eddy, who presided over the case, stuck to the terms of the arrangement, handing down a suspended one-year sentence in the Flathead County Detention Center Oct. 24, 2024. She also gave Le Roux credit for 52 days of time served.
Prosecutors alleged that Le Roux forced her way into the Fifth Avenue West North home in the early afternoon hours and attacked a woman living in the house, punching her several times in the head. The victim eventually got hold of a hammer and swung it at Le Roux while telling her to get out, court documents said.
Le Roux fled and was later picked up by Kalispell Police officers. She allegedly told them she had hoped to speak with her ex and entered the home through an unlocked door.
